The Elcometer SP60 Portable Spectrophotometer provides absolute and difference measurements for the following colourmetric systems. Pass/Fail Mode
The portable spectrophotometer instrument stores up to 1024 standards with tolerances for easy pass/fail measurement. A red/green LED indicator and the LCD display provide visual confirmation of results. A tone also sounds to indicate a fail result and measurement completion.
Quick Colour Compare
A quick measurement can be taken to compare two colours. This allows the operator to take quality control readings in a time efficient manner without having to create tolerances or store data.
The Sphere
SP60’s diffusing sphere is made of Spectalon®, a durable, highly reflective material designed to perform in a rigorous production environment. The diffusing material prevents degradation due to the flaking and chipping of the sphere wall material.

The portable spectrophotometer instrument can measure opacity as well as three colour-strength options: chromatic, apparent and tri-stimulus calculations. Window tinting on glass is not just decorative. It serves several functional purposes, including heat reduction, reducing harmful UV rays, enhancing privacy, and preventing upholstery fading. However, there are safety limits on how much tint you can legally apply to your glass windows.
Professionals use the tint darkness scale to measure Visible Light Transmission. The scale expresses Visible Light Transmission as a percentage (VLT%). When VLT% is “adequate”, authorities judge that a road user has a minimum, safe level of visibility outsode glass.

The terms "contrast ratio", "opacity" and "hiding power" are used interchangeably throughout the coatings industry but on this page, in order to simplify matters, only the term opacity will be used. Opacity is defined as the ability of a coating to prevent the transmission of light. A practical example of this is the case where a yellowwall is painted using a red paint. The greater the opacity the red paint, the more efficient it will be at hiding the underlying yellow colour
Opacity is defined by how a wet film of the test coating is applied to a black and white patterned substrate. After the film has dried, a reflectance meter or a spectrophotometer is used to measure the amount of light reflected from the overcoated black areas of the substrate. This is then expressed as a percentage of the amount of light reflected from the overcoated white areas. This value is the opacity of the film.
A paint which is highly opaque will obscure the black and white areas to an equal extent. In this situation, equal amounts of light will be reflected from the overcoated black and white areas and consequently an opacity value of 100% will be obtained.

Online Optical Density Monitor is a non-contact online thickness tester for coating aluminized film, use the principle of optical transmittance to monitor the process of vacuum coating machine and the production line of glass, has two kinds of methods to display: transmittance and optical density.
The material of transmittance (optical density) and a certain proportion relationship with material of coating thickness. So by monitoring materials of optical transmittance (optical density) to achieve the uniformity of monitoring materials, the purpose of the coating thickness. As long as it is light through the material, can be monitored by monitoring the light transmittance product quality. Such as winding vacuum coating, coating, glass/film production line and so on.

a) Detection systems : Includes the source, receiver, controller and aluminum bracket;
b) Human-computer interaction devices : 7 inch LCD MMI, display the transmittance and optical density data of every test points.

Due to the measured sample of this customer is more special, the card slot of our conventional glass transmittance on-line monitoring device is 20mm wide, can not meet customer needs. So we customized a flexible program, the test points, controllers and human-machine display interface will be provided by our company to test , collect, output and display dates. As for the bracket part,it will be customized according to the customer’s requirements.
